TEA Tuesday: So it begins.
Hey folks!
I have officially started working on filling out the rest of the zine! Most of March will be used to write the parts of the zine that, as of yet, only exist in my notes and mysterious glyphs sent to me from the Realm Beyond.
I will try to post a little update/preview each Tuesday. This can be anything from an update to the playtest rules to a piece of art or a preview paragraph of whatever I'm working on at that week :)
I have spent the last week going over all the feedback I received and updating parts of the playtest rules and playtest scenario. So let's go over some of the changes!
Most of the changes were small things like fixing some wording issues, but I have also done some bigger changes:
- I expanded the Exploration section to include an actual procedure for travel. This procedure combines the idea of characters hunting/foraging during their journey and the encounter roll into one roll called the Travel Roll. The added page also includes some more info about modes of travel and travel times.
- The equipment section has also been expanded. It now contains a section detailing transport options and their carrying capacity, new weapon keywords, a section with rare weaponry that adventurers might come across. I also changed how you can repair armor and weapons. It now just costs ink to repair without having to make a check.
- Long Turns have been renamed to Quarters, to make them more distinct from Exploration Turns and to emphasize they are 1/4th of a day.
- I've added a few sentences to the Deprived rules explaining what happens if a character is deprived for an extended period.
- Talents gained by each background have been trimmed down from 3 to 4, to reduce overlap and make having a certain talent a little more special.
- I made some tweaks to prices throughout the zine and slightly increased the starting number of drops.
